Session: T-SQL Window Functions in Microsoft SQL Server Denali
Window functions are an extremely powerful concept in T-SQL allowing you to apply calculations against a set of rows. Window functions have several advantages over alternative, more traditional methods to achieve similar calculations, resulting in simpler and more efficient solutions. SQL Server 2005 introduced partial support for window functions and SQL Server Denali adds more complete support. This session covers window functions and their support in SQL Server Denali, and explains why they are so powerful and preferable to the more traditional alternatives.
