A non-yielding issue may cause a database mirroring failover in SQL Server 2005 and in SQL Server 2008.
FIX: Data loss may occur if the database mirroring thread stops responding for a long time during an automatic failover process in SQL Server 2005 or in SQL Server 2008.
Cumulative update package 9 for SQL Server 2008.
High CPU utilization may occur with your queries on SQL Server 2005 and SQL Sever 2008 servers compared to SQL Server 2000.
OS Errors 1450 and 665 are reported for database data files.
Log Reader Agent reports “The process could not execute 'sp_replcmds' on '%s'” on a partitioned table with more than 92 partitions.
Error code when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates: "0x737D".
FIX: Even though the Distribution Agent successfully reapplies a batch of failed commands, you still receive error message 20046 that indicates that the Distribution Agent failed in a SQL Server 2005 transactional replication.
FIX: The -R parameter is ignored when you use the BCP.exe utility together with the -R parameter and the -F parameter in SQL Server 2005.
FIX: An access violation occurs when you run the SET FMTONLY statement to set the value of the FMTONLY option to ON and the SQL Server 2005 server is under memory pressure.
FIX: Error message when you run a query that uses a common table expression to shred XML data in SQL Server 2005: "Internal Query Processor Error: The query processor could not produce a query plan".
FIX: Assertion failures occur in SQL Server 2005 when a Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) transaction is rolled back while that transaction is being commited by the DTC.
FIX: An access violation occurs when you run a query on a table that has a partitioned nonclustered index in SQL Server 2005.
FIX: Error message when you add a subscription to a republisher that is in a merge publication in SQL Server 2005: “Cannot create the subscription because the subscription already exists in the subscription database”.
FIX: An insert operation for a temporary table that has a foreigh key constraint fails when the execution plan for the INSERT statement contains a merge join operation in SQL Server 2005.

He is a regular speaker and volunteer (Ask The Experts) at SQL Server events such as SQLPASS, Tech-ed etc. He was made a SQL Server MVP in 2006. He also manages http://www.sqlserver-qa.net.in/ this talk he will be talking about the type of SQL Server Replication, problems you may encounter setting up and configuring replication and where replication should be used and where it should not. Speaker: Martin Bell What can WMI do for you? Martin has been a freelance computer consultant in the UK for over 23 years. He has worked on many relational database systems and since the 1998 has specialized in SQL Server. He was first awarded Microsoft MVP (SQL Server) status in June 2003. Windows Management Instrumentation has two distinct areas of use, one is for configuration where it can be an extremely useful tool to manage and configure SQL server installations, the other area is for Alerts where it can be an extremely useful tool to monitor SQL Server and an alternative to DDL triggers or SQL Trace. This event will be held at the HBOS's Sighthill office. For security reasons we need to submit a list of deligates in advance. If you wish to attend you MUST email Martin Bell before 12:00 on 11/12. The event will start at 18:30 and go on till 21:00 Sandwiches and refreshments will be provided for attendees.
